The short version

Camino connects to your calendar, email, and social accounts to generate a personalized daily podcast. We do not store the raw data we receive from your connected services. We use it once, along with your episode prompt, to generate that day's episode. The generated episode and its transcript are stored so you can listen back, but we never use that content for any other purpose.

How we use each data source

When you connect a service, we access it in read-only mode each morning to generate your episode. Here is exactly what happens with each source:

Gmail

We scan your inbox for newsletters and notable messages, summarize interesting stories, and include them in your episode transcript. We store the names of the newsletters you subscribe to so we can learn which ones matter to you. We do not store the contents of your emails.

X (Twitter)

We read your timeline to find interesting stories, products, and conversations. These are summarized and woven into your episode. Your timeline data is not stored after the episode is generated.

Google Calendar

We read today's meetings, look up participants to briefly summarize their background and expertise, and include relevant schedule context in your episode. Calendar data is never stored.

What we do store

  • Your account: email address, name, podcast settings, and authentication tokens for connected services.
  • Episodes and transcripts: the generated audio and text for each episode, so you can listen back and we can display your episode history.
  • Interest signals: over time, we extract and store general information about your interests (for example: interested in space, prefers entertainment over work-related content, follows certain newsletters) to improve the quality and relevance of future episodes.

What we do not store

We do not store the raw content of your emails, calendar events, or social media posts. Source data is processed once to generate each episode and is then discarded. We do not build a persistent copy of your inbox, calendar, or feed.

AI models and training

We use AI models to summarize your sources and write episode scripts. We exclusively use model providers that do not train on the data we send them. Your personal data is never used to improve or train any AI model. This is a deliberate choice: we evaluate providers on this criterion before adopting them.

Google API Disclosure

Camino's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Your rights

  • Disconnect: you can disconnect any connected service at any time from your Sources page.
  • Delete: you can delete your account and all associated data (episodes, transcripts, interest signals, tokens) from Settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
  • Access: you can request a copy of your data by contacting us.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored using Supabase with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Authentication tokens for connected services are stored encrypted and are only used to fetch data for your daily episode.
